Since 2002, FPG has worked with more than 100 franchisors to improve franchisor-franchisee relations, transform franchise recruitment, plan organizational growth, and develop solutions to strengthen financial results. By disrupting the status quo, we have been able to accelerate franchisors’ growth, drive revenues, increase royalties and build equity value.
FPG Case Studies
When FPG began working with Marco’s in 2010, a small franchisee rebellion was underway. The company had just brought on a new president, and when he was introduced at his first Marco’s annual convention, he was greeted with turned backs from upset franchisees suspicious of the company’s direction. Working as management advisors, FPG helped establish and reinforce a franchisee-friendly company culture that began to transform the brand. At the executive’s second convention, franchisees greeted him with a standing ovation. In the ensuing years, Marco’s has become one of the fastest-growing restaurant franchises in America, expanding from 375 locations to more than 900 in 2018. FPG has trained and coaches area developers in franchise sales, designed recruitment processes, pipeline tracking procedures, and content for marketing automation. We also designed and implemented a content strategy for attracting new franchisees, centered on a new franchise information site.
FPG helped grow Sport Clips from 350 units to more than 1,500, providing strategic advice to the Vice President of Development, designing the franchisee recruitment process, and writing training materials and providing support for area developers. FPG also provided franchisee recruitment services for turnaround markets.
Christian Brothers Automotive
Christian Brothers Automotive grew from 80 to 190 units while working with FPG from 2012 to 2019. We designed a new lead generation strategy for the faith-based brand, stressing both the business model and company culture that makes Christian Brothers a unique opportunity. In addition to building a new franchise information website, we provided digital marketing strategies and advisory services to the Chief Development Officer.
College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving
College Hunks Hauling Junk became a Franchise Performance Group client in 2015. At the time, the emerging growth franchisor had 40 territories an average unit volume of approximately $400,000.
FPG designed a new franchisee recruitment process and franchise information website, provided digital marketing services, strategic advisory services, lending relationships, and outsourced franchisee recruitment services.
Together, the efforts helped the brand grow to 110 franchisees representing 225 locations, with average AUVs growing to over $700,000. As a result of increased royalties and EBITDA, market valuation grew from an estimated $2.5 million to $10-12 million.
Franchise Performance Group worked with Menchie’s from 2010 through 2017, helping the brand grow from 25 locations to a 550-unit leader in the frozen yogurt category, with $15 million in royalty revenue. FPG designed Menchie’s recruitment process and strategy, provided strategic advice, built a new franchise information website, set up broker relationships, and acted as VP of Franchise Development, staffing, training and leading their department.
